Mr. Jefferson Greets Casper Citizens!
Mr. Thomas Jefferson of Monticello will speak to and converse with visitors from the far western territory on the occasion of this coming anniversary of the approval of the Declaration of Independence. The western travelers are welcome to gather at 6:00 PM at Swann’s Tavern in Charlottesville [Country Club – Casper, WY] on June 13th, 1821 [2026]
Consideration of this document and the events that led to its adoption should be of interest to all concerned citizens and their families.
Mr. Jefferson, who after eight years, retired from his elected office as Chief Executive of these United States to return to his native home in Albemarle County, Virginia, served as the primary draughtsman of our Declaration. His recollections and comments about the times and events that led to this founding document should rekindle the patriotic zeal demonstrated by Mr. Jefferson and his fellow patriots during much more onerous times than those we face today.
